Net zero: carbon reduction plan
pop pop studio
Commitment to achieving net zero
pop pop studio is committed to achieving net zero emissions by 2035.
Baseline emissions footprint
Baseline emissions are a record of the greenhouse gases produced in the past, before the introduction of any strategies to reduce emissions. Baseline emissions are the reference point against which emissions reduction can be measured.
Additional details relating to the baseline emissions calculations
pop pop studio is a digital first organisation. Where possible, meetings are held online. Sometimes face to face meetings, conferences, and exhibitions are needed. We use public transport wherever possible.
We also work hard to cluster face to face meetings, to avoid unnecessary travel.

Emissions reduction targets
As a growing business, we expect our carbon emissions to increase over the next few years. However, we plan to be net zero by 2035.
We're committed to hosting all digital products on green energy based data centres, for example our partners at Krystal.io.
In order to continue our progress to achieving net zero, we've adopted the following carbon reduction targets.
We project that carbon emissions will decrease over the next five years to 1,500 tCO2e by 2030. This is a reduction of 25% on 2025 figures. Progress against these targets can be seen in the table below.
| Year | Total kg CO2e |
|---|---|
| 2025 | 1912 |
| 2026 | 2500 |
| 2027 | 2600 |
| 2028 | 2300 |
| 2029 | 2000 |
| 2030 | 1500 |
| 2031 | 1200 |
| 2032 | 1000 |
| 2033 | 750 |
| 2034 | 500 |
| 2035 | 0 |
Carbon reduction projects
Previous carbon reduction initiatives
As 2025 is our baseline, there are no previous carbon reduction initiatives.
Future carbon reduction initiatives
In the future we hope to implement further measures such as
- By 2030, we'll reduce emissions from business travel compared to our 2025 baseline by prioritising virtual meetings as the default option for internal and external engagements, with in-person travel approved only where it delivers clear operational or social value.
- Throughout 2026 and onwards, where business travel and in-person meetings are necessary, we'll reduce emissions from business travel compared to our 2025 baseline by planning meetings efficiently by location and schedule, consolidating engagements into fewer trips and avoiding unnecessary journeys.
- By March 2027, 100% of new online products and services will be developed and hosted using low emissions hosting providers, selected based on renewable energy use and published carbon reduction commitments.
